| Bertie Ahern to visit NUI Galway Literary and Debating society |

For immediate release The NUI Literary and Debating society are soon to be the proud hosts of Ireland's longest serving Taoiseach since De Valera. Bertie Ahern, TD, will give an interview on his life and times at the society's meeting on Monday 2nd February in the university's Kirwan theatre at 7pm. About the visit by O'Toole, Jackie Driscoll, Vice-Auditor of Lit & Deb commented that "for anyone who has an interest in Ireland's politics and its role in modern times, this is an must-see event" Mr. Ahern will receive the Literary and Debating Society's President's Medal and will be joining Roddy Doyle, Patrick McCabe, Fintan O'Toole and Noam Chomsky among the illustrious recipients of the award. There will be a chance to ask Bertie Ahern questions at the end. A reception will follow in Paddy's Bar, Prospect Hill. |
